Effort to stop People smoke at Toilet 停止人们在厕所抽烟的方法

Really hate those people smoke at toilet. Making me can't breath normally with the 'fresh air' inside there.

真的很讨厌看到,闻到,感觉到有人在厕所抽烟! 恨不得敲门进去'修理'他们~

Have been thinking ways to stop this.

一直都在想如何'根治,解决掉他们'.

Eventually... Found an idea.

Malaysian Marrow Donor Registry (MMDR) 大马骨髓捐献注册

昨天在面子书被友人宗良通知有关一位女士急需要人捐献骨髓. 讯息如下:

在联络了慧娜后,证实这是真人真事. 但由于不太了解捐献骨髓的方式,平常都听说别人很可怕的,不知如何能帮到她.

所以今早特地到IMR了解详情.

原来除了所谓可怕的手术以取出适当的骨髓之外 (Bone Marrow Aspiration),现今也发明了另一种较为让人放心的方式,称之为Aferesis. 这在2006推行的先进科技(过程像抽血般)其实是抽出健康捐献者的stem cell以培植成为骨髓再置入病人体内.

了解过后,我也加入骨髓捐献注册名单,注册过程非常简单,只需约15分钟(官员解释+填表格+抽10 ml血).

希望能借此给予所需要的人一点点的希望,虽然机会是多么地渺茫.

Each year 100++ of Malaysian suffer from diseases treatable with bone marrow transplantation. Various types of leukaemia, aplastic anaemia, Thalassemia, Lymphoma can be treated with bone marrow transplantation. Unfortunately many patients die before they can find a compatible donor.

What is bone marrow?
Bone marrow is the tissue found in the cavaties of the bones. Bone marrow produces all of our blood cells.

What is bone marrow transplantation?
A bone marrow transplant is the replacement of the patient's diseased bone marrow with the marrow of healthy, matched donor. Within few weeks, the transplanted marrow will begin to produce normal blood ells in the patient.

How is a marrow matched?
A special test in used to identify proteins called HLA (Human Laukocyte Antigen) found on the surface of the patient's white blood cells. A bone marrow match occur when the 6 HLA antigens found on the patient's white blood cells match the 6 HLA antigens found on the potential donor's white blood cells.

Who can join the registry?
Age 18-50, healthy and eligible to give blood.

Step for Donation:
1. Join the registry at Malaysia Marrow Donar Registry (MMDR), located in Institute for Medical Research (IMR) , Jalan Pahang, Kuala Lumpur. Next to Kuala Lumpur General Hospital. A MMDR representative will brief you on the process. You will have to complete a questionare. You will requested to provide a small blood sample to determine your tissue type. All donor information is confidential.

2. If you're identified as a potential match for the patient, you will be contacted for further testing

3. You will receive further information about the donation process and will undergo a physical examination to determine health status

4. You decide whether to donate or not

5. If you've decided to donate, a small amount of marrow will be removed from pelvic bone. Your marrow will replenish itself within 4-6 weeks.

My Organic Veggie Garden at Home - by my mom ^_^

I enjoy home veggie gardening which I picked up when I was in primary school. my school provided a small corner for pupils to grow vegetables. I remembered a few of my classmates went to collect pig's dropping for fertilizer. When harvesting, marks were given according to the weight & kinds of veggie. It was a satisfactory hobby, not only gaining the knowledge of gardening, I could have my own grown veggies on dinner table.

Nowadays, many vegetables from market are not safe to consume, they contain excess of insecticide & pesticide which are harmful to our body. If using artificial fertilizer for long time, organisms in soil are killed, the soil is spoiled. Healthy soil yield healthy food.

I had a small piece of land beside my house, I grow veggies like kangkong, bayam, long bean, petola, bittergourd, lettuce, bai chai, chai sin, ladyfingers, eggplant. Sometimes sweet potatoes and ginger are grown, these plants take about 4 months and nine months respectively.

Usually, I dig a hole, dump the kitchen food waste to the hole and cover with soil.

OR I use an empty paint-tong, make few holes at its bottom, fill with used top soil to about 1/3 tong and then dump the kitchen waste in till the tong is full, put soil on top and cover the tong .

It takes about 4 months, this compost is fertilizer. The water for soaking mushroom is good for compost and soil.

Organic veggies are expensive in market. This home gardening is enjoying, money saving , provide veggies instantly & good exercise for me.

For leafy veggies, I usually grow 2 to 3 types at a time, so I have different dishes.

针灸 Acupuncture

30/8/08, I went to Hospital Tung Shin (同善医院) located 1km away from Pudu Raya Bus Station. This is due to my left leg muscle feeling pain and sometimes struggling for the cramp while playing sport. It already been for few years. Is time to have a body check up.

After the doctor "interviewed" me for short while, he took out some fine needles. Oh no.... I dare not imagined how pain it going to be when those needles were inserted into my leg.. The doctor age 30, refused for being taken photo.

Doctor comments: The injury weaken the leg muscle and further causing muscular contraction. This is a common case by the way.
Doctor advices: Don't - take cold drinks, eat prawn, use cold water for bathing, play too heavy sport.

Surprisingly, the pain was so little, until I couldn't even know the needles already in place!

This was my expression when the needle was going to be popped into my leg... lol..

Total 5 needles were used.

The infra-red light was used to increase the heat of leg as so the acupuncture process efficiency can be enhanced.

It took about 20 minutes before all needles were removed from my leg. That was a release~~ I can feel the pain at the muscle is reduced now.

It just cost me RM 11 for the first visit. (RM 3 for registration fee). After this, I need to pay only RM8 per visit (if for acupuncture purpose).

I shall go again next time. =)

Kepong is already a well known spot in contributing to Malaysia dengue fever statistic.

With this can we really ensure the mosquito Aedes habitat is completely wiped out?
